The Punto R&D team has designed new balcony railing profiles based on the demands of our European Union customers. This new range of balcony railing profiles is specifically designed to match the railing models commonly used in European countries. The balcony railings are available in both glass and non-glass models and can also be covered with metal mesh façades.

What is Metal Mesh Cladding?

One of the reasons for using aluminum in metal mesh balcony façades is its lightweight structure. Another reason is that the aluminum sheets used as covering materials are coated against oxidation. These products, which come in a wide range of perforation sizes, feature standard openings of 6 cm in width and 2.5 cm in height. For denser mesh façades, please contact our company.

Which Aluminum Profiles Are Used in Balcony Railings?

There are two types of railing profiles:

• The first type is created using round aluminum pipe profiles.
• The second type involves aluminum rectangular box profiles mounted on concrete walls. To increase safety, thick aluminum flat bars are used in the mounting sections of the box profiles to improve their load-bearing capacity and resistance to corrosion.

To ensure durability and long service life, all aluminum profiles used in balcony railings are coated either with anodizing or electrostatic powder coating.

In addition to their technical advantages, aluminum balcony railings are preferred for their aesthetic appearance, durability, lightness, and low maintenance.

What Are the Color Options for Balcony Railings?

Aluminum balcony railings can be finished using either electrostatic powder coating or anodizing. When powder coated, the desired RAL color code (international standard) selected by the customer or architect is applied to the aluminum surface and then baked at approximately 200°C to complete the surface treatment. There are hundreds of available RAL colors, with dark tones—especially shades of grey—being the most preferred.

Another finishing method for aluminum balcony railings is anodizing, a process where chemicals are bonded to the aluminum surface using electric current. Aluminum balcony profiles are typically anodized in a matte finish.

Anodizing can also be done in various colors such as matte, black, bright anodized, inox, yellow, and bronze, especially for glass balcony railings.
